Torrential rain causes flooding in north Merseyside

FLASH flooding hit north Merseyside today.

Merseyside fire and rescue were called out to four different areas between noon and 1pm as torrential rain fell.

Two houses in Stoneleigh Close in Ainsdale were flooded as well as one in Trafalgar Road, Birkdale as drains overflowed.

West Lane in Freshfield was also affected.
