Man denies knife murder

A MAN has denied the murder of a stab victim who died in hospital.

Michael Wiseman-Grue, 41, was knifed in the stomach during a disturbance at a house in Jubilee Drive, Kensington.

The 41-year-old was taken to the Royal Liverpool Hospital where his injuries were initially not considered to be life-threatening.

But his condition deteriorated and he died about five days later on May 18.

Thomas Lythgoe, of Carisbrooke Road, Walton, was charged with his murder.

The 35-year-old appeared at Liverpool crown court today via video-link from Liverpool prison and entered a not guilty plea.

Wearing a green round-necked T-shirt and with dark hair, he spoke only to confirm his name and enter his plea.

It is understood he will claim he acted in self-defence.

Judge John Roberts fixed a trial date for October 6.
