Fire alarm causes tunnel chaos

A FIRE was reported inside the Wallasey tunnel today, causing traffic chaos.

The Kingsway tunnel, which stretches from Scotland Road under the Mersey and comes out in Wirral, was closed to all vehicles shortly after 9am.

An alarm is believed to have gone off in a pump room, starting fears of a blaze.
