Train named after Tate Liverpool

VIRGIN Trains will be holding a ceremony this morning at Liverpool Lime Street Station to name one of their fleet in honour of Tate Liverpool.

A Virgin Trains Pendolino train will be named Tate Liverpool to commemorate the gallery's 20th Birthday Year and also Virgin Trains’ commitment to the city during European Capital of Culture Year.

Afterwards, Network Rail and Alstom will be briefing the media at Edge Hill train maintenance depot on their plans to enhance train maintenance. The level of maintenance work undertaken at the depot will increase and Edge Hill will also play a pivotal role in the acceptance and commissioning of the 106 additional Pendolino vehicles, which have been ordered to provide more capacity on the West Coast Main Line.
