Family of Michael Causer's killer facing eviction

THE family of a man who murdered a gay Huyton teenager are facing eviction from their home.

James O'Connor faces life behind bars after admitting the murder of 18-year-old Michael Causer in a brutal attack last July

The 19-year-old, of Reeds Road, Huyton, pleaded guilty to the killing on the first day of a trial at Liverpool Crown Court last month.

Now, Knowsley Housing Trust have begun eviction proceedings against O'Connor's family.

An intent to regain possession notice was served on the family today after being granted by a court.

The case will be heard in full next month, when KHT will say that O'Connor's crime constitutes a breach of the tenancy agreement and throw his family out.

Michael, a trainee hairdresser, was battered to death in a house in Biglands Drive, Huyton.

His body was pulled from the house by O'Connor and two others and dumped in the street.

When police and paramedics arrived, they were told Michael had been jumped by a gang of hoodies.

Last week, Gavin Alker, 19, who admitted hitting Michael but blamed the fatal attack on his friend O'Connor, was cleared of murder and manslaughter.
