Wayne Rooney's brother-in-law will not face charges over Steven Gerrard 'brawl'

FOOTBALLER Wayne Rooney’s brother-in-law will not face charges over a brawl that landed fellow star Steven Gerrard in court.

Anthony McLoughlin, 19, brother of model and WAG Coleen McLoughlin, 22, was arrested in January after Gerrard was charged over an alleged assault at a nightclub in Southport.

Mr McLoughlin, of Huyton was one of several men arrested over the fight in the Lounge Inn which allegedly saw businessman Marcus McGee, 34, lose a tooth and sustain facial cuts.

But today solicitor John O’Leary said Merseyside Police had voided his client’s bail and he would not be charged.

He said: “Following his arrest, Anthony McLoughlin was granted bail by the police and was due to answer his bail today.

“Yesterday, however, he was informed by Merseyside Police that he was no longer required to attend as his bail had been voided.

“He is therefore no longer on police bail as a suspect in these proceedings.
