A PENSIONER and a female friend were treated for smoke inhalation following a chip pan fire in St Helens tonight.
Fire crews were called to the address on Dilloway Street in Denton Green just before 8pm.
The 72-year-old homeowner and his 37-year-old visitor were treated for smoke inhalation after the fire caused severe smoke and fire damage to the ground floor.
Both were taken by Ambulance to Whiston Hospital.
Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus put the fire out using CO2 extinguishers and gave oxytherapy to the female until the arrival of the Ambulance.
