LDP Legal: Exchange Chambers set to appoint new head after David Turner QC steps down

BARRISTERS at Exchange Chambers are planning to appoint another joint head of chambers, after a leading member stepped down from the role.

David Turner, QC, is no longer practising as an advocate, and decided not to continue as head of the Derby Square-based set. He is now sitting as a judge.

He led the chambers alongside personal injury specialist Bill Braithwaite, QC.

Mr Turner’s career at the Bar saw him unsuccessfully prosecute Steven Gerrard last year and defend Robert Thompson in the James Bulger murder trial.

A chambers spokesman said: “Everyone at chambers would like to thank David for his outstanding contribution over the years.

“Bill Braithwaite, QC, who was joint head of chambers with David, is now head of chambers. Due to the continued expansion and multi-disciplinary nature of chambers, we will shortly be appointing a new joint head to work alongside Bill.”
