Toddler Madeleine McCann, who was abducted in Portugal _158
PORTUGUESE detectives have flown in to the UK with a list of fresh questions for the parents of Madeleine McCann.
Three officers arrived in Britain on Monday ahead of a fresh interrogation of Kate and Gerry McCann.
The couple, both 39, returned to their home in Rothley, Leicestershire, last week after spending four months in Portugal awaiting developments.
It was reported the officers wanted Leicestershire Police to put the questions to the McCanns, who have been declared official suspects in the case, although they deny any involvement in her disappearance. A spokeswoman for the McCanns said last night: "To date, we have had no contact from them."
* KATE and Gerry McCann’s former spokeswoman called yesterday for the reintroduction of exit checks at ports to boost child protection.
Justine McGuinness did not specifically mention the case of Madeleine when she spoke briefly at the Liberal Democrat conference.
