make the news
It's an issue never far away from the thoughts of anyone who visits Liverpool regularly: The Big Dig.
The website for the project describes it as one of Europe's biggest regeneration programmes, creating 14,000 new jobs and investing £3billion in the city's redevelopment. It brings together all the major regeneration projects taking place throughout the city.
But it also warns that such a major programme of construction work will bring some disruption.
Now, two years into the work, we want to know if you think it will be worthwhile. With traffic jams in parts of the city now commonplace, some businesses say their profits have suffered.
Some shoppers talk of looking to go elsewhere, but Liverpool City Council insists the pain will be worth the gain: delivering a 21st-century transport system.
What do you think? What have been your experiences of the Big Dig? Could it have been done better, with less disruption? Or do you think that the people complaining are those who just rely on the car too much?
