Boy, 16, guilty of raping woman

Southport & Formby District General Hospital

A TEENAGE boy has been convicted of raping a woman he dragged into bushes as she walked home alone from Southport District Hospital.

The 16-year-old, who cannot be identified for legal reasons, subjected his 39-year-old victim to a horrific ordeal, Liverpool Crown Court heard.

She told the court she was attacked during the early hours of June 17 after setting off on foot because she was tired of waiting for a taxi.

She told the jury she felt threatened when she walked along Town Lane and noticed a dark, hooded figure cycling towards her.

Her attacker got off his bicycle and dragged her by the arm across the road towards some bushes, she said.

The victim said: "I was screaming and saying, 'No' but he told me to be quiet or he would kill me.

"He said that half a dozen times during my ordeal."

The woman, who cannot be identified for legal reasons, said he pulled off her clothes and ordered her to perform a sex act upon him.

He sexually abused her and then raped her.
