A JEALOUS man who did not accept a long-term relationship was over attacked his ex-girlfriend and stole her mobile phone after he broke into her home late at night.
Thomas Miller had earlier repeatedly sent Joanne Griffin text messages asking her to contact him and had called round at her home in Golborne banging on the windows and accusing her of seeing other men.
Miss Griffin was so frightened she asked a friend for help and her friend sent round her boyfriend to keep her company.
Liverpool Crown Court heard that, at about midnight on July 1, Miller kicked open the door and started calling her abusive names.
“He pushed her onto the settee and threatened to kill her and swung an ornament at her, causing a small bruise to her hand,” said Martin Snowdon, prosecuting. “Three days later, he surren-dered to police.
The couple had been together for 12 years but broke up in February and he had to move out.
Miller, 45, of Rockford Gardens, Chapelford Village, Warrington, admitted burglary. He was placed under supervision for two years.
