First green festival of music gets city launch
LIVERPOOL’S first ever “green” music festival will take place at the city’s cricket ground in Aigburth in August.
And last night cult Liverpool band Shack launched the event with a perfor- mance in the court- yard of a city centre bar.
They are just one of the acts that will be appearing at the eco-friendly Livefest on August 11.
Organisers say the one-day event is aim- ed at all the family. Along with Shack, other acts confirmed so far include Alabama 3, best known for the theme tune to the hit TV show The Sopranos.
Festival director Tony Rothwell said: “Not only have we managed to secure acts from around the world but some of Liverpool’s best talent will also be on offer.”
