THIS water “fountain” in Speke delighted children on a hot summer’s day – but residents were less than impressed.

They said it represented a scandalous waste of water, but despite repeated calls nothing had been done about it.

Doreen Bayliss, who lives in Stapleton Avenue, Speke, said: “Sometimes the water has been 20ft high with the force of it, but nobody has come out to attend to it.

“I can’t imagine how much water has been wasted.”
