Airport gym kit aims to get passengers in good shape

LIVERPOOL John Lennon Airport has unveiled its latest leisure activity to keep passengers happy.

They have installed gym equipment which is specially designed for quick and safe workouts.

The city council has teamed up with Liverpool John Lennon Airport for the project, which will see the airport decked out with keep-fit kit ranging from squat machines to shoulder presses.

Liverpool’s executive member for leisure, Councillor Colin Eldridge, said: “In Liverpool we are constantly working on innovative ways to get people fit.

“We have already introduced gym equipment in our libraries and now we hope to urge many more people to get active by training in the terminal.”

Instructors will be on hand to supervise and offer advice.

Director of John Lennon airport Andy Gower said: “This is a great initiative that the Airport is delighted to be a part of.

“We like to offer our passengers something different and once they’ve finished shopping in the departure lounge, passengers can now also pass the time to keep trim before jetting off.”
