Rogers put in charge of TMP

Tranmere chairman Lorraine Rogers, now in charge of TMP

LIVERPOOL investment agency The Mersey Partnership (TMP) today announced Tranmere Rovers chairwoman Lorraine Rogers as its new chief executive.

The appointment followed an eight-month search after the resignation last November of former chief executive Dr Robert Crawford, who returned to a new role in his Glasgow home after less than year on Merseyside.

TMP had hoped to appoint a successor before the end of last year but had to increase the salary to £125,000 in March after failing to attract the right candidate.

The Partnership has the job of marketing the Liverpool city region – taking in Liverpool, Wirral, Sefton, Knowsley, St Helens and Halton – to the wider world.

Mr Rogers is director of Culture Northwest and, chairs Business Link for Greater Merseyside. and a trustee of National Museums Liverpool.

Last year she became the first woman chairman in the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic's 166-year history.

TMP director David Moorcroft was acting chief executive for the interim period after Dr Crawford’s resignation.
