PLANS for a £30m project to provide a sport, community, and health centre in Warrington in one place have moved a step closer.
Warrington Council’s executive board has given the go-ahead to apply for national funding for the Orford Park Project from bodies such as Sport England, Football Foundation, the Big Lottery Fund and the NWDA.
The project is a major public/private sector regeneration initiative designed to develop a community sports hub in the heart of Orford.
Council chiefs hope it will be a pioneering blueprint that could be copied in the UK.
