Elderly woman left in shock after mugging

AN ELDERLY woman was left in shock after a man shoved her in the back and snatched her handbag.

Around 3.15pm last Saturday, the woman was walking across the car park near the community centre on Greasby Road, Greasby.

She was approached by a man, aged between 18 – 23 with a slim build, short dark brown hair and a pale complexion, who pushed her and grabbed her handbag off her shoulder.

The man is described as white, 5ft 9ins tall and wearing a navy blue baseball cap with white stripes down one side, a navy jacket with a light grey short sleeved T-shirt underneath and navy blue jeans or trousers.

The handbag was later recovered but the cash inside it had been stolen.

Police are appealing for anyone with any information to contact either Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 or call 0151 709 6010 and ask to be put through to Wirral CID in Upton.
