Reed in Partnership and Kevin Browne - an apology

ON JANUARY 31, we reported on employment tribunal proceedings brought against Reed in Partnership by Liverpool councillor Anna Rothery.

In these proceedings, Ms Rothery complained of constructive unfair dismissal and race discrimination and our article reported that she had claimed in her case to the tribunal that she was the victim of a race hate campaign conducted by her manager, Kevin Browne.

This was not correct. It was no part of Ms Rothery’s case that she was the victim of racist bullying by Mr Browne or Reed in Partnership or, as her counsel confirmed to the tribunal, that there was a racially motivated campaign.

Furthermore, although the tribunal ruled that Ms Rothery had been constructively dismissed, it cleared Mr Browne of any unfair treatment of Ms Rothery, whether racist or otherwise. We apologise to Mr Browne and Reed in Partnership for the error.
