Borough compost record

A RECORD number of people in Wirral are turning to home composting.

The latest figures from WRAP (Waste and Resources Action Programme) show the borough sold 1,362 home composters from January to June, 2007.

That is more than was sold in the borough in total in the last seven years.

It follows news that Wirral’s recycling rate rocketed by 13% to 27.5% for April, May and June. This compares with 2006/2007, which saw just 14% of all waste recycled.

Home composters are available for only £10 including free delivery.

Order on www.recyclenow.com/compost or call 0845 077 0757 quoting HCA1.
