Print works hotel offers a special ‘type’ of break

The Print, Montreal Building, Stanley Street.

A CUTTING-EDGE design hotel opens today in the heart of Liverpool city centre.

The restoration of the historic Montreal building, a former print works on Stanley Street, looked in jeopardy at the beginning of the year but now hotel Print, which hosts state-of-the-art design and features, has been completed.

Businessman Thomas Brown and his company, The Stanley Street Co, came to the rescue of the building’s refurbishment project when its former owners ran into financial difficulty, forcing workers to down tools.

The Stanley Street Company’s investment of £5m secured the future of the project and has created Print in little over four months. And the hotel in the Cavern Quarter will not just offer a bed for the night – patrons can have a drink in the members club, dine in the restaurant and party in the bar and club.

The building has been carefully restored to create a unique character and comprises four luxury loft suites and two duplex penthouse lofts, Cyan – a members only club, first floor bar and restaurant and underground nightclub, Ink.

All bedrooms are spacious and elegantly fitted with custom-made furniture and on the top floor the penthouse suites feature mezzanine levels, large bathrooms and brand new technology.

The second floor members club, Cyan is decorated with bespoke wallpaper and furnished with design classics and antique pieces.

The first floor brasserie, with its oak floors and velvet furnishings, offers all day dining.

The menu is simple and honest, made from the finest locally sourced ingredients available in the region.

The ground floor is home to reception and the cafe bar. It is a dramatic space with lofty ceilings, grand chandeliers and retro-inspired furniture.

On the lower ground floor, with its own separate entrance is the nightclub Ink, an intimate state of the art venue, with unique roman plaster design on the walls and velvet bed-like seating.

Nick Henry, general manager of Print hotel said: “Print is something the city has never encountered, everyone who stays, eats or drinks here will experience luxury at its best. We’re extremely pleased with the look and feel of the hotel and can see Print being a jewel in the crown of Liverpool’s hotel scene”.
