A YOUNG mother was stabbed as she walked along a Southport shopping street.
The victim, in her late 20s, was walking along The Walk to the shops on Upper Aughton Road, when she was approached by two youths, shortly after 6pm on Sunday, July 29.
One of the pair demanded cash from the victim and, when she refused, she was stabbed repeatedly in the left leg with a sharp object.
The youths then made off on foot in the direction of Banastre Road. The woman received puncture wounds to her leg that required five stitches.
Both offenders are described as white, aged around 13 to 15, skinny, 5ft 5in tall and speaking with a Southport accent.
One of them had blonde hair, spiked up at the front and small features.
He was wearing a grey hooded top with two pockets at the front with the hood pulled up over his head.
The other had dark hair and possibly brown eyes. He was wearing a dark hooded top, possibly navy blue or black with pockets at the front.
