Residents told to stay indoors as gun drama unfolds

ARMED police swooped on a Merseyside estate last night after reports that a man wanted in connection with a firearms offence was in one of the houses.

A large number of officers were sent to Brandearth Hey in Stockbridge Village. Residents were told to stay indoors during yesterday’s drama, which began shortly before 5pm. However, when officers later entered and searched the house, they found no-one inside.
