Yoga closes a series of themed events
SEFTON Park provided the setting for a day of yoga and other health-related events over the weekend.
Yoga in the Park was organised by the Liverpool Yoga Centre, based in Hope Street, and represented the finale of a series of themed events which started in June.
Around 450 people attended the day in Sefton Park, which also featured stalls, performers and a pamper tent to promote holistic therapies.
Catherine Mitchell, one of the project co-ordinators, said: “We aimed to raise awareness by taking yoga out into the community so people could learn a new skill they could practise themselves.
“We had a range of ages and ethnicities on the day itself, and those taking part in the yoga sessions ranged in skill from complete beginners to those with more experience.”
Yoga in the Park is a scheme which organisers hope to make an annual event.
