Two held over city ‘execution’

TWO men were yesterday arrested on suspicion of the murder of Ryan Wooley, who was shot in a gangland execution-style shooting in Wavertree.

Mr Wooley, 20, was gunned down in Taunton Street, off Picton Road, seconds after buy- ing pizza from a Waver- tree fast-food shop, on Saturday, August 11.

He is believed to have died instantly after suffering a wound to the back of his head and shots to his chest.

Merseyside Police arrested a 36-year-old from Wavertree and a 22-year-old from Halewood after executing warrants at addresses in Taunton Street.
