A VIDEO giving Liverpool fans a fly-through glimpse of their new stadium, including computer-generated players and crowds, was released yesterday.
Already, Liverpool FC supporters have had a chance to view still images of the impressive £300m project. Now they can fly above the Kop in the computer-simulated production and even make out individual seats.
“You can get a much better perspective of the sheer size of the stadium and how the Kop looks when you fly over the ground. It really is impressive,” said the club’s website editor, Paul Rogers.
“From the feedback on the messageboards, there’s one word that keeps popping up and that’s ‘awesome’.”
Co-chairmen George Gillett and Tom Hicks also appear on screen and talk of their excitement about the new “world class” arena they believe still retains an English style by incorporating four distinct stands.
Mr Rogers said: “You see inside and can see the trees outside in Stanley Park, the seats are clearly defined and shots of fans and players in particular bring a sense of perspective of what it might look like on match day.”
The video works as a film taking you on a tour, but soon the team behind it hope to develop it so fans can pick different views and explore the various areas of the stadium.
Mr Rogers added: “When the chairmen are quoted they both seem to play on the fact that it’s all about the Kop and the fans, and the stadium is supposed to reflect that.
“It’s intended to show how important the fans are.”
