TRIBUTES were last night paid to the former auxiliary Bishop of Liverpool, Rev Michael Moran, who passed away suddenly at his home in Bognor Regis.
Former colleagues said the “larger than life character” who was an excellent story teller would leave a wonderful legacy of “happy memories for all those who met him.”
Born in Castlebar, Co Mayo, in 1934, he grew up in a pub opposite St Michael's parish in Liverpool, where his vocation first called.
He also attended Sacred Heart School before being ordained in 1959.
FR MORAN’S Funer- al Mass will be celeb- rated at the Metropol- itan Cathedral of Christ the King, Liver- pool ,at 12.15pm on Friday before burial at Ince Blundell.
