Lottery winner treats himself to new knees

WIRRAL Lottery millionaire Tony Dodd has kept his promise to splash out – and is treating himself to a pair of new knees tomorrow.

The Wallasey resident and his wife, Greta, won a £2,438,155 share of a Lotto jackpot last month, and are both getting new knees to celebrate.

But, to help each other recover, they have decided to spread out their surgery dates.

Mr Dodd, 68, will have his first left knee replaced this Friday at Murrayfield Hospital, Thingwall, while his wife will wait until October for her first operation.

The couple, who met 46 years ago in the Royal Navy Reserve, have already bought a new home in Greasby. They are hoping their new knees will make it even more enjoyable.

Mr Dodd said: “We were both on a hospital waiting list, but as soon as we won, we decided this was one of the first things to do.”
