RHYS JONES’S father, Stephen, was too upset to speak at his son’s funeral.
Instead, he wrote a poem for his son which was read by his brother, Rhys’s uncle Neil Jones, during the service:
“Glistening eyes and cheeky face, Angel’s halo out of place, You to me are my whole world, Wrapped up special in one word.
“Into trouble, into fights, Into many sleepless nights, Yours is the voice I always heard, Wrapped up special in one word.
“Many hours of giggling fun, You really are a wonder son, Flying freely as a bird, Wrapped up special in one word.
“Wrapped up special in one word, All the special times we shared, And you are now asleep at peace, Wrapped up in a word, Rhys.”
Rhys’s uncle ended the reading with the Welsh “Nostad”, which means “Goodnight, God Bless”.
