SCORES of Tour of Britain cyclists will be racing through Liverpool today in the latest stage of the prestigious event.
The riders start at Sefton Park and will head through Crosby and Southport on the way to Kendal.
Last year, the tour had a stage finish in the city and next year the final of the entire race will be in Liverpool for the Capital of Culture celebrations.
A total of 102 cyclists passed the time trial in Crystal Palace on Sunday and yesterday 94 were left in the competition.
Before reaching Liverpool, the racers have travelled through the South East, Somer- set, and the West Midlands.
TODAY’S race starts at Sef- ton Park Palm House at 10am and goes through: Mossley Hill Drive, Croxteth Drive, Aigburth Drive, Sefton Park Road, Croxteth Road, Princes Road, Upper Parliament Street, Parliament Street, Chaloner Street, Wapping, Strand Street, The Strand, George’s Dock Gates, New Quay, King Edward Street, Great Howard Street, Derby Street and Derby Road. The race then proceeds along Derby Street across the Sefton boundary along the A565, through Crosby and Southport, eventually finishing in Kendal.
There is a rolling road closure in place throughout the event.
