Two rob Chester Kwik Save

TWO men armed with a knife stole a “substantial” amount of cash as workers opened a supermarket in Chester.

The thieves, dressed in blue tracksuits and balaclavas, struck when a man and woman arrived to open the Kwik Save on Sealand Road.

Police are now appealing for witnesses who had parked there and may have seen suspicious activity in the car park prior to the robbery.

The robbers escaped in a blue Mondeo they stole from one of the supermarket staff members, although the car was later recovered nearby on Brideman Close.

No-one was injured in the raid.
