THE daughters of a prostitute who was murdered in Liverpool city centre issued a plea last night for help to catch their mother’s killer.
Speaking on the eve of the second anniversary of Anne Marie Foy’s death, Carly and Suzanne Wall asked people to look beyond what their mother had been doing to earn money and come forward to police with information, “no matter how small”.
Mother-of-four Mrs Foy, 46, was murdered in a wooded area off Crown Street near the Royal Liverpool University Hospital.
Her family were dealt a huge blow earlier this year, when suspect Kevin Kilshaw’s confession to the murder was exposed as a fantasy.
The 44-year-old St Helens man walked free from court after he was revealed to be a serial confessor who had been in London at the time of the murder.
In a joint statement, Carly and Suzanne said: “We would ask people to look beyond what our mum was doing and remember her for being our mum, who we loved dearly. She was a grandmother and someone who cared about and loved the people around her.”
Acting Detective Superintendent Dave Kelly said: “Someone out there could have information which could prove vital to our inquiry. It may seem irrelevant to them but could be the piece of information we need to bring the offender to justice.
“It is known that Anne Marie worked as a sex worker, and while I understand that people in that industry may be reluctant to talk to the police, I stress that their information will be treated in confidence.”
