FEARS were growing last night for the safety of a 12-year-old boy who went missing from his home in St Helens.

Haji Abdul Kadir, who does not speak English very well and has a distinctive stammer, has been missing since 4.30pm yesterday.

He was last seen near his home in Recreation Street heading in the direction of St Helens town centre.

Merseyside Police say he has no money and does not have access to a mobile phone.

He is described as black, about 4ft 11in tall, with a slim build, brown eyes, a clear complexion and short curled black hair.

He was wearing his school uniform, grey trousers, a white shirt and a turquoise fleece jumper.

Anyone who sees Haji is asked to contact police on 0151 777 6952.
