Crash pair badly hurt

A MOTORCYCLIST was seriously injured in Liverpool city centre at the height of yesterday’s afternoon rush hour.

A second person was also seriously injured in the collision, which happened close to the Birkenhead tunnel exit on the Strand at 5.40pm.

Police said the injuries both motorcyclists suffered were not life-threatening.

The Strand was cleared and reopened around 6.15pm, but the accident caused severe disruption to rush hour traffic.
