Woman assaulted during early jog

A WOMAN was indecently assaulted as she jogged around the historic city of walls of Chester during the early morning.

Police have now warned other women to beware of walking or jogging alone.

The attack happened around 5.45am on Monday, September 17.

Police said the victim had spotted the attacker loitering on the corner near the steps to Telford’s Warehouse during her first couple of laps.

She said: “She was suddenly grabbed by the throat and indecently assaulted.”

The man put his hand over her mouth but the woman bit him and struggled, causing them to fall to the floor before the man fled.

The man was white, around 5ft 11ins, 35-40 and of medium build. He wore a blue tracksuit with white stripes on the arms and legs.
