Firm’s fun cricket stumps up cash for charity

A WIRRAL company has stumped up fistfuls of money for charity after agreeing to donate £1 for every run made during a fun cricket match.

The Contact Company, of Birkenhead, travelled to East Lancashire for the friendly against PM&M chartered accountants – and managed to win by just one run.

Staff got into the spirit of the event and collected £340 for the Derian House children’s hospice, which looks after seriously ill children from across the North West.

Asif Hamid, chief execu-tive of The Contact Com-pany, said: “When Tony asked us about to take part we were more than will-ing, considering it is such a worthwhile charity. Everyone enjoyed it and it was nice to get a win.”

Tony Tinker, of PM&M, said: “We decided to take time out and have a bit of fun, while raising money for a good cause.”

Susan Poppitt, Derian House fundraising manag-er, said: “We are so grate-ful to PM&M and The Contact Company for their kind donation.”
