Car firm staff are relocated

THE majority of staff at one of Merseyside’s best-known car supermarkets have relocated following its merger with a rival firm.

Switch Car, based on Dunningsbridge Road, Netherton, closed last week following a take-over by rival Carcraft.

Business has been moved from the site to its Carcraft showroom in Knowsley and Switch Car said the majority of employees have the option to move to the new premises.

UK Car Group, which owns Carcraft, made the decision to move the site to enable growth.

A spokesperson said: “Most of the staff based at Switch Car are being offered the opportunity to relocate to join the expanding team at Carcraft in Knowsley.

“The decision to relocate enables the group to offer one convenient port of call.”

Switch Car had dealt in nearly new cars and Carcraft, which has ten UK sites, has been moving increasingly towards this market.

The UK Car Group, is owned by the same family who established the company in 1951 and Carcraft opened in Knowsley in 2003.
