£8,500 for charity

A MIDNIGHT ball raised £8,500 for a Liverpool cancer charity last night.

The event was held at Sefton Park Palm House for the Roy Castle Lung Cancer Foundation and organ-ised by businessmen and women associated with the fund.

Guests were treated to a performance from singer songwriter Katie Miller and a menu created by celebrity chef Simon Rimmer.

The guest speaker was Michelle Mone, the brains behind designer lingerie label Ultimo.
