LIVERPOOL’S new Arena will host events for more than 120 days next year.
The Arena, which forms part of the Arena and Convention Centre, will open in January and host a plethora of events throughout the year.
Tim Banfield, general manager, said he was currently in discussions with promoters about bringing a number of artists to perform at the venue next year.
“We have been talking to promoters and they are bang in the middle of pencilling in dates at the moment.”
He said no names could be revealed at the moment, but there would be announcements to come in due course.
Following on from the opening weekend, it will host the Number One’s concert, that will feature Liverpool’s chart toppers from the past 50 years.
Every single artist still alive that ever made it to the top spot, from Gerry Marsden to Sonia, has been invited to take part in the concert on January 19, 2008.
A number of sporting and family entertainment events have also been lined up, including CBeebies Live the stage show, the XFactor Live, and Supercross motorcycling.
