Hammer robbers strike

A MAN was threatened by two masked robbers wielding a hammer during a robbery at a Merseyside pub.

The raid happened yesterday at 9.15am at the Ellesmere Arms Hotel in Little Sutton.

A Cheshire Police spokesman said the robbers, both wearing balaclavas, threatened the man with a lump hammer and demanded money.

He said: “They smashed fruit machines inside and took a quantity of cash.”

One robber was around 6ft tall and wearing a blue tracksuit, and the second man was around 5ft 3ins tall, and wearing a beige tracksuit with blue flashes on it, possibly made by Reebok.
