Two men on guns charge

TWO men are due to appear before magist- rates today after police seized a large stash of guns, silencers, ammu- nition, cash and drugs on Merseyside.

Officers from the specialist Matrix team stormed a house in Haydock in the early hours of Tuesday.

Seven semi-automatic pistols, three revolvers and another gun were seized from the address in Avery Square, along with seven silencers, 500 ammunition rounds, 20 to 30kg of cannabis resin worth more than £30,000 and cash.

Mark Watt, 30, of Avery Square, Haydock, and Neil Johnstone , 42, of Bolton Road, Ashton-in-Makerfield, will appear before magistrates in St Helens today.
