1,000 voices for charity

MORE than 1,000 children have added their voices to a charity single recorded in the splendour of Liverpool Cathedral.

Warchild will be released as a download tomorrow, with proceeds split between children in Africa and Merseyside charities.

Youngsters from school choirs across the city took part in the massive singing session this week.

The song is the brainchild of musician Chris O’Neill, from the Backbeat Beatles.

The 44-year-old, who played George Harrison in the 1994 film, Backbeat, said: “It will only cost 70p to download.

“The money will be shared between the Radio Merseyside Charitable Trust and Feed a Child which helps Aids orphans in Africa.”
