THE parents of missing Madeleine McCann were last night waiting for police to ask them 40 “key” questions about the disappearance of their daughter.
Liverpool-born Kate and Gerry McCann are said to be eagerly awaiting the quiz in a bid to end speculation about their involvement in Maddie’s abduction.
The questions will be asked by UK police based on a list to be submitted to them by detectives in Portugal. It will include quest- ions the McCanns re- fused to answer during their interrogation in the Algarve.
News of another round of interviews comes as Portuguese police were accused of ignoring possible sightings of the four-year-old in Morocco.
The accusations came as a national newspapers claimed that Portuguese police chief Goncalo Amaral has a mountain of paperwork detailing 252 possible sightings of Madeleine on his desk.
The McCanns’ spokesman Clarence Mitchell said last night: “Kate and Gerry want to co-operate with the Portuguese police and would hope their resources are being employed as effectively as possible at all times.”
