Search becomes murder inquiry

THE hunt for a missing Merseyside man has become a murder inquiry.

Police looking for 36-year-old Raymond Shearwood, fear the convicted drug dealer has been killed in the six weeks since he vanished.

Mr Shearwood originates from the Bootle area of Liverpool but was known to have links with St Helens and surrounding areas.

He was last seen at approximately 4.45pm on Sunday, August 19 2007 when he dropped his eight-year-old daughter off at her home address in Bootle, following an afternoon at the cinema. Neither Mr Shearwood or his green Ford Mondeo, registration number VK02 BHA, have been seen since.

DCI Karen Cummings said: “It is completely out of character for Mr Shearwood to go missing.

“We know that he and his daughter left the cinema early as he had an appointment, but we need to establish if he kept that appointment.

“He has not been seen since then and we need to establish his whereabouts from that time to discover what may have happened to him.”

Anyone with information is asked to contact detective on 0151 777 8676 or call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
