City boy, 6, hit by car

A BOY was injured in a collision with a car as he walked home from school yesterday.

The six-year-old was struck on Queens Drive, Liverpool, at about 3.30pm.

He was last night being treated at Alder Hey Children’s Hospital after the incident involving a Ford Fiesta.

A spokesman for Merseyside Police said the child’s injuries were not life threatening.

Officers closed part of the road between the Fiveways and Thingwall Road.

Police are appealing for witnesses.
