A CHURCH roof collapsed during a fire in the early hours of Saturday morning.
Arsonists are being blamed for the blaze, which caused extensive damage to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, in Runcorn. Five appliances were tackling the fire at its height, including firefighters on a hydraulic platform.
They found the building well alight but no-one was injured. Police are appealing for witnesses.
