Woman hurt in collision with skip

A WOMAN suffered serious head injuries when her car collided with a lorry at an accident black spot on the East Lancs Road yesterday.

She was transferred to Aintree University Hospital.

The collision occurred close to the junction with Blindfoot Lane, causing the road to be closed for several hours.

A Merseyside Police spokesman said there had been a number of accidents in the same location.
