Caged mice are dumped by owner

THE RSPCA is appealing for information after a cage containing two young mice was left near a service station in Wirral.

RSPCA animal collection officers were called to the corner of King Street, Wallasey, following a call from a member of the public.

A male grey and white mouse and a female black and white mouse had been abandoned in a plastic animal carrier.

Both mice were healthy but had not been provided with food or water.

They were found on Thursday, October 4, and the RSPCA are trying to find their owner.

Animal collection officer Derek Hampson said it was “an unusual incident”.

He said: “ If anyone has any information about who may once have owned them, I urge them to contact the RSPCA immediately.”
