26 held in drug raids

NINE people are due to appear before St Helens magistrates today following raids against suspected drug pushers in the Clinkham Wood area of the town.

A total of 25 search warrants were carried out, with 26 arrests being made in relation to offences of supplying counterfeit drugs and cigarettes.

Merseyside police said 16 people had been charged with a total of 63 offences.

Cash to the value of £2,200 and 2,400 counterfeit cigarettes had also been seized.
