TODAY council leader Warren Bradley is due to travel to London to discuss public transport with Transport Secretary Ruth Kelly and leaders from the country’s other core cities.
Last night he said: “What we are arguing is for a fair playing field. London is regulated and we want our public transport to be re-regulated, to get the sort of subsidy to be able to deliver a much more connected system.”
When asked about using additional rates to pay for trams, he said: “That’s what supplementary business rates are all about, building infrastructure so that business can prosper.”
